the cowboy

Why is the Cowboy an American Symbol?

A: The Cowboy is an American Symbol due to his resilience and steadfast personality. America is only as big and powerful today due to the Cowboy heading out West to settle it, with his tools of his trade which were Barbwire and his gun. He contains the last vestiges of wildness allowed in the new millennium, and as much as America changes, he has always remained the same. America needs the Cowboy both to remind us of how far we have come and to bring us back to the simplicity of the values he represents. He is also needed because he is a piece of who we are as a country. He represents a lifestyle and a time period that is a cherished part of our History. Little boys want to grow up to be him and the little girls want to grow up to marry him.
