River, stay away from my door

Mississippi River floods are expected to rise to historic levels leaving thousands of families from Arkansas to Tennessee with no option other than to abandon their homes.
Authorities are urging residents to evacuate before the next round of storms, which are expected to descend as early as Monday, a day earlier than originally planned. River levels could reach as high as 48 feet, just short of breaking historical levels dating back to the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927, a disaster that killed thousands.
Wary of such dangers, Memphis Mayor A C Wharton warned residents in low-lying areas to evacuate.
