preservation of the soul

Although I read David Whyte’s book The Three Marriages: Reimagining Work, Self and Relationship, I had not discovered his poetry until a wise Colorado lady – Colleen – mentioned him.

Now, I can’t get enough . . .

Watching the geese
go south I find
that
even in silence
and even in stillness
and
even in my home
alone
without a thought
or a movement
I am part
of a great migration
that will take me to another place.
